Alphonso Davies is a professional soccer player that plays for Canada’s Men National Soccer Team and for FC Bayern Munich . He is also was the youngest player in Canadian team history to sign a contract. Davies has also earned multiple achievements including Canada Soccer Player of the Year 4 times (2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022), the Lionel Conacher Award (2020) and the Lou Marsh Memorial Trophy (2020).

Davies was born in Buduburam, Ghana and at the age of 5 his parents immigrated to Canada during the civil war in Liberia. They first settled in Windsor, Ontario before moving to Edmonton, Alberta where they eventually settled. Davies moved to Vancouver, BC in 2015 to join the Whitecaps FC Residency, where he went on to become the youngest player to appear in the United Soccer League and he made his professional debut with the Vancouver Whitecaps at the age of 15.

. In 2022, Davies helped the men’s team qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 36 years and was the lone goal scorer for Canada during their appearance in the tournament. In 2021, Davies was appointed as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), becoming the first footballer and first Canadian ever to be appointed to such position. In 2021 he helped launch the Together for Learning campaign with the Government of Canada, a 3-year campaign to promote quality education and life long learning for refugees, forcibly displaced and host-community children and youth.
